Week 9 #21

Podcasts are a great tool for student reports. Instead of taking notes on interviewees they can just record them and digitally post them into their assignment. It's also a unique tool for those who hate to type. Podcasts add an educational alternative for idle ears in replacement of music.
I did some research on podcast.net with some Harry Potter sites and linked an RSS feed for a podcast onto my blogger (bloglines)
javascript:player('http://www.podcast.net/play/39160/19');

On Yahoo podcast the Library Channel Video Podcast would not load properly. I only saw the first minute of the video.

Be sure to check out the podcast ideas on the Curriculum connections wiki -- and post some of your own ideas there. Student report podcasts are a great addition to written and oral reports. So are poetry and story read-alouds captured on podcast. Does your school have a drama teacher that would collaborate on getting emotion and drama into read-aloud podcasts? Just an idea.
